Legendary UK jumps jockey Peter Scudamore will be a special guest of the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) at an evening to celebrate the VRC's fortnight of Grand National jumps racing.

Ace jockey Damien Oliver has taken three rides for his comeback to racing at Flemington on Saturday. The two-time Melbourne Cup winning jockey has not ridden since suffering severe injuries in a race fall at Moonee Valley almost 15 months ago.
01/06/06 - VRC calls for charity submissions for 2007/2008 Melbourne Cup Carnivals
The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) is now accepting submissions from charity organisations wishing to be appointed as the VRC's official charity for the 2007 and 2008 Melbourne Cup Carnivals.

The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) and the Seven Network today announced their decision to extend their current Melbourne Cup Carnival free-to-air telecasting agreement for a further six (6) years. The current agreement expires in March 2007.
30/05/06 - VRC moves Ascot Vale Stakes to AAMI Victoria Derby Day
The Chief Executive of the Victoria Racing Club, Mr. Dale Monteith, today announced that the $500,000 Group 2 Ascot Vale Stakes, run at Flemington in early September since 1969, will now be conducted on the opening day of the 2006 Melbourne Cup Carnival - AAMI Victoria Derby Day.

Mr. Douglas H Reid OAM has advised the Committee of the Victoria Racing Club that in accordance with Club Rules he will be retiring effective from 30th June this year.
